Wednesday 7PM-8PM

MORNING PRACTICE

I implemented a successful masters swim program last summer, and participants expressed their surprise at how much they accomplished by the end of season. Sam and I look forward to equipping you with the knowledge to allow swimming to be more successfully incorporated into your workout routine, and for an opportunity to work with you this summer!  Please contact me with any additional questions.

Thanks,

Cherokee Swim Team - Week 2 Email

Good afternoon,

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Official start of the summer last weekend with Memorial Day, hope everyone is in the full swing of things now, grilling, pool time, and working on that tan.

I thought practice last week went very smooth, but we have plenty to work on across the board. Very exciting stuff. Please if you have any questions, comments or concerns about last weeks practices, reach out to me. I want to make myself available to you because this team belongs to your kids.

Another long email coming up for you now, but not as long as last week!

We really need help with this part of our home meets. PLEASE, if you are willing to help with officiating please please please let me know.

3.) LOCK-IN FOR 11 AND UPS THURSDAY, JUNE 11TH

CCC will have their annual overnight lock-in following our first home meet with Beaver Brook CC for all swimmers 11 and up on June 11th. This event will require all participants and parents to complete a waiver, as well as handing over car keys for all swimmers 16 and up. More information will be provided in the coming weeks! I want to thank Martha Allen for volunteering to help us organize this event. That being said, the more help the better! Feel free to let us know if you are willing to assist in chaperoning this event, or setting up!

4.) FEEDER PROGRAM

This Wednesday, June 2, the feeder program begins. These are group lessons for new and non-swimmers taught by the coaching staff and older CCC swimmer volunteers. We are extremely excited about this program! These lessons will run from 9:00 - 9:30 on MWF. Please reach out to us with any questions/comments.

5.) PRIVATE LESSONS

We cannot stress enough the importance of technique as the primary way for swimmers to see performance improvements, and believe that all swimmers will greatly benefit from one on one work.  Private lessons are a great way to enhance your swimmer's technique. Myself, Brittany, and Elli have experience teaching private lessons, and have greatly impacted the stroke efficiency of many young swimmers. Proper technique is critical not only for enhancing a swimmers ability to move quickly and effectively through the water, but also aids in decreasing the risk of injury! Contact any of our coaches directly to reserve a lesson slot, and remember availability is limited so the sooner you sign up, the greater the likelihood that you will get your first choice time slot.  For your convenience, we will have registration sheets for each lesson completed, and CCC will bill each member's account directly.

6.) PARENT/COACH COMMUNICATION

My primary form of communication will be weekly emails sent on Sunday evenings.  The other forms of communication are outlined below. All important dates, practice times and the meet schedule are available on Google Calendar. Questions/comments feel free to let us know!

A.) Weekly Sunday evening emails (also available on the blogspot)
